
Our Story
For over 40 years we have watched the New England coastline lose nearly 80% of its native wild oyster, clam, and mussel stocks. To help a new crop of ocean farmers replenish and restore these stocks, we started Acoaxet Shellfish Farm. We are a land-based, high-quality, research-driven shellfish hatchery full of committed ocean and food safety advocates located in Tiverton, Rhode Island.

Our hatchery, incorporates the latest feeds and technology to make sure farmers experience success as they revitalize our coastal areas and provide amazingly nutritious and delicious oysters, clams and mussels direct to local markets and even back to the hatchery!
We encourage everyone to come visit and experience the amazing crops our sea farmers produce and enjoy one of our fun events like shucking lessons, wine and shellfish tastings, and authentic Portuguese Seafood Boils!
